Part II then puts the patterns to work across twelve chapters, on the back-rank mate, Greco’s mate, Anastasia’s mate, Boden’s mate, Pillsbury’s mate, the Arabian mate, and mates delivered by major and by minor pieces. A bibliography, an index of players and an openings index close the book.
