Fifteen chapters in three parts, one for each phase of the game. The endgame section works through bishops of the same color, opposite-color bishops, bishop against knight in both directions, bishop against rook, and bishop against pawns. The opening section is organized by the bishop’s role in specific structures: the King’s Indian bishop, the French bishop, the Nimzo-Indian bishop, the fianchetto on g2 and the Stonewall bishop. The middlegame section covers the advantage of the two bishops, the bad bishop and the attacking bishop. A postscript and game index close the book.
