Four chapters in two parts, divided by what else is on the board. Part I covers endgames with rooks, one chapter for the bishop being superior and one for the knight. Part II does the same for endgames with queens. Along the way Zlatanovic examines Capablanca’s claim that queen and knight cooperate better than queen and bishop, and argues, from the statistics of the examples he gathered, that rook and knight prevail more often than rook and bishop. He explains ideas in words rather than evaluation symbols throughout.
